It's a new year and everyone makes resolutions. And most people don't follow through on their resolutions within the first month of the year. You are not alone if this is you. But it doesn't have to be. When it comes to fitness resolutions, remember sometimes you get frustrated because you don't see results quickly enough or your goals were set too high. You have to be SMART! Smart goals are:
Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realtistic
Timely
For example, If your goal is to lose 15 - 20 pounds . . . Set a way to do it . . . Watch food intake through an intermittent fasting plan and/or keeping track on a free fitness tracker app (My Fitness Pal) with a daily calorie intake recommended by the tracker. Also, take 3 45-minute classes a week that fit my schedule at Fit Chix: i.e., Speedball, Pound and Dance.
The goal is specific. You defined your calorie plan and workouts.
The goal is measurable. 1200 calories and 3 classes per week.
The goal is realistic and attainable. Your schedule allows you to attend the classes and the tracker lets you keeps track of your calorie intake.
The goal is timely. You can start working out now . . . the weight loss will come with time.O
One big way to help you attain this. Accountability! Get a workout buddy. Don't have on, consider hiring a personal trainer if needed.
Is it taking you longer to meet the weight loss goal then you hoped? Keep this in mind. Weight loss is not the only goal you should have. You have more energy. Your cardio vascular health is improved. You have challenged yourself mentally. Your endurance and strength is improved. You have made new friends and dared to lead a different life. Small goals and baby steps will get you there.
Hang in there for that New Me in 2022. Luv ya, The Chix!
